With its suite of frame refinements, new tube shapes, Ultegra Disc groupset and new Cannondale Carbon Hollowgram wheels, the 2020 SuperSix Evo Carbon Disc Ultegra men’s road bike is a perfect choice for those seeking to take their riding up a notch.

Bike of the Year for 2020, the Ultegra equipped SuperSix EVO Carbon Disc returns for 2021 in even more complete form.

There have been few changes to the SuperSix Evo range after last year’s ground-up and highly praised overhaul of the platform. The two main differences are notable though. Firstly, the absence of a Rim brake model – like the Synapse Endurance platform before, Cannondale are now completely committed to the Disc brake. The second is less profound a change but a hugely welcome one and one that makes a whole lot of sense considering the basis of the bike : the use in all models – save for the 105 base model – of the KNOT SystemBar and Stem which reduces drag presented by the cables and hoses while simultaneously cleaning up the aesthetic of the bike. Thus the highly successful Bike of the Year is even more desirable now – as it comes straight out of our workshop with the key integration elements of SystemBar and Knot stem already in place.

Cannondale have taken their highly praised SuperSix Evo platform that has impressed critics, pros and amateurs alike – and made fast, faster. Speed comes from more than one element of bike design and Cannondale have consistently engineered the SuperSix to deliver on all fronts with compromise in none. For this new iteration however, they have entered the Aerodynamic arena imperiously, delivering everything that the SuperSix is famed for while also reducing the drag of the frame by a staggering 30 watts. Much of the drag reduction comes from the new truncated aero tubing and integration of cabling and on this Ultegra Disc model there is room to add the new KNOT system Bar and Stem to make the bike faster still.

Along with the power savings, Cannondale have also managed to reduce the frame weight – something that is remarkable when you consider that the construction of aero tubing usually negatively affects both weight and comfort. On this last point, Cannondale have managed to improve the vertical comliance of the SuperSix too. An 18% increase is the result of the new internal seat wedge, 27 SAVE Seatpost andf lowered seat stays. The rest comes from the use of wider tyres that the new SuperSix Evo frames can now accommodate – up to 30mm. All this additional compliance lends not only greater comfort for long days in the saddle or rides that take on tough, uneven terrain, but also helps to keep the bike tracking over the ground more smoothly; this in turn keeps the wheels in contact with the road more making you faster and more stable. Win, Win.

The combination of increased speed through reduced drag, and improved comfort – combine with Cannondale’s revised SuperSix Evo geometry. More ‘Italian’ than ever before and in line with current Bike Fit science, the SuperSix Evo is now slightly taller at the headtube and marginally shorter on all models to accommodate a wider range of rider ‘types’ – all the while it remains long and low enough to deliver the position favoured by Cannondale’s Pro and Elite racers. The pinpoint handling, rapid acceleration and confident stability that make the Evo an excellent all-rounder race bike and adroit descender, all remain.

Equipped with Shimano’s race ready yet reliable Ultegra groupset, your shifting will be precise and consistent while the hydraulic brakes offer superb modulation for supreme control when you need it. The big boon on this SuperSix Evo Carbon Disc Ultegra though, is the use of Cannondale’s tubeless ready Hollowgram carbon wheels that deliver weight savings and aero gains to deliver even more speed.

As a ‘used’ bike, we are happy to offer a 3-month in-house warranty from the date of the sale against manufacturing defects (crash damage and general wear and tear not included).

We do endeavour to supply top quality pre-owned bikes and the photographs and description are fair representations of our bikes, our reviews are good, and we try to look after our customers, many of whom return for additional bikes. Whilst we hold proof of ownership and ID, our bikes may not be supplied with an owner’s manual and other little goodies (we may not receive them) that new bikes may be supplied with direct from manufacturers.
