Weighing in at a mere 19.6kg the new Lapierre eZesty is featherweight thanks to the compact size of the FAZUA Evation motor, encompassing previously unattainable dimensions. The FAZUA Evation motor ushers in a new benchmark for lightweight e-bikes with a natural ride sensation and no visible motor. Made in Germany, this motor is built with a modular form and demonstrates the potential to really shift how pedal-assist bikes are designed. The FAZUA motor not only rides with a very conventional feel, but it also generates virtually no resistance when the motor is deactivated. Another benefit comes from its small size, which hugely benefits handling. The entire motor and battery unit can also be removed when desired and replaced with a plastic guard to transform the FAZUA-equipped e-bike into a conventional bike in just a few steps.

Fazua e-Bike System: The lightest and most compact drive system in the industry

The Fazua system is the lightest and most compact mid-mounted drive system on the market, offering a unique natural drive feel and no mechanical resistance thanks to the innovative gearbox system on the bottom bracket. And should you want to ride the bike without any assistance you can remove the integrated battery and motor entirely from the bike.

At only 4.6kg for the entire system, compared to 3kg for a Bosch Motor and a further 3kg battery, the Fazua system has enabled Lapierre to make one of the lightest e-MTBs on the market.

But it’s only a 250W Battery I hear you cry! We’re often lead to believe that bigger is always better, but that isn’t the case when it comes to e-Bike assistance. The Fazua system is designed to provide the optimal level of assistance, allowing you to ride in a natural way without the added weight of bulky e-Bike systems – fly down trails like you would on an analog bike and then use the assistance for those draggy sections and long climbs.

Our bikes may not be supplied with an owner’s manual and other little goodies (we may not receive them) that new bikes may be supplied with direct from manufacturers.
