he Trek Rail 5 625w Electric Mountain Bike is a great value, enduro-style machine that combines an outstandingly able chassis with reliable components and a powerful electric motor for assistance when required.

The Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame offers 150mm of trail-taming suspension to soak up the hits, big or small, via the RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock, whilst the Mino link provides the opportunity to fine-tune the frame’s geometry to better suit the terrain or rider. The front end has 160mm of travel thanks to the RockShox 35 Gold RL fork although the frame is rated for up to 170mm if even more capability is required.

With a 250W, 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor in the bottom bracket to add plenty of assistance (up to 15.5 mph / 25 km/h), getting back to the top of the hill for another lap of the trail is light work and as the battery has a 625Wh capacity there are miles of fun available. eMTB mode adjusts the assistance automatically to suit the terrain in order to maximise the power and also serves well as a set-and-forget option so that there is no need for constant adjustments – just enjoy the ride. The battery is housed discretely in the down tube but can be easily removed for charging or travel if needed without recourse to tools.

Shimano’s evergreen 12-speed Deore drivetrain suits the bike well; performing fantastically and reliably ride after ride with quick shifts and a wide range of gears on offer. 4-piston brakes ensure that the speed comes with a healthy dose of control, affording tireless, fade-free performance on every descent.

The bike can also be collected in person from our HQ by prior arrangement. We have a stock of quality approved used road bikes, triathlon bikes and mountain bikes for sale.

As a ‘used’ bike, we are happy to offer a 3-month in-house warranty from the date of the sale against manufacturing defects (crash damage and general wear and tear not included).

We do endeavour to supply top quality pre-owned bikes and the photographs and description are fair representations of our bikes, our reviews are good, and we try to look after our customers, many of whom return for additional bikes. Whilst we hold proof of ownership and ID, our bikes may not be supplied with an owner’s manual and other little goodies (we may not receive them) that new bikes may be supplied with direct from manufacturers.
